Interested in veganism? Love cheese? Then join our workshop and learn how to make your own vegan cheese! You'll learn the different vegan cheesemaking techniques, from a basic cream cheese, to the more advanced camembert-style "cheeze". You'll be able to make 3 different cheeses to take home with you. And you'll be provided with all the recipes of the cheeses, so you can remake the cheeses whenever you like.

All ingredients will be provided. You'll just need to bring some containers to transport your cheeses.

Lunch is included. Free tea, coffee and kombucha (special fermented tea) will also be available.

Cost: £25 (New Unity members); £40 (non-members).

The workshop is hosted by New Unity member Martine de Rijck. When she was very young, her best friend's mother became a raw vegan and told her about the many health benefits of a plant-based diet. Martine was always very curious about it, but also found it was very hard to maintain. A few years ago, when she moved to London, she became more aware of other reasons why one would consider a plant-based diet - such as animal welfare, and the carbon-foodprint of animal products. She started to work at a vegan restaurant - first as a waitress then in the kitchen. Ever since, she's been obsessed by how to veganize certain foods in order to make veganism more mainstream and accessible, and to show that vegan food is far from boring. She hopes that as many people possible will get to taste her veganised version of certain dishes, making them curious for more vegan food!
